Selection Criteria:
  1. Tertiary qualification in a health discipline and/or extensive recent clinical experience in complex healthcare settings relevant to clinical governance.
  2. Demonstrated understanding and ability to apply the concepts, principles and practice of clinical governance, including patient safety, clinical risk management, quality improvement and complaints management.
  3. Knowledge of culture change, human factors and quality and safety techniques including clinical practice improvement and root cause analysis.
  4. Demonstrated analytical problem solving and decision-making skills
  5. Demonstrated presentation skills and the ability to provide training and education on patient safety issues to clinical and support staff.
  6. Demonstrated superior written and oral communication skills with a demonstrated ability to produce comprehensive reports.
  7. Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate; consult and negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  8. Demonstrated experience working constructively with clinical staff in complex healthcare organisations and demonstrated peer leadership skills with the ability to effectively motivate and develop staff in a multidisciplinary environment.
