Essential Criteria:
Qualification: Degree in Social Work, overseas qualifications must be recognised by the AASW
Registration: Eligibility for membership of the AASW
Selection Criteria:
- Degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the AASW. Overseas qualifications must be recognised by the AASW
- Demonstrated experience as a counselling clinician in palliative care or other clinical settings involving life limiting illnesses, including specialist knowledge of grief and bereavement processes
- Demonstrated experience and advanced clinical skills in comprehensive psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, individual and family counselling skills, complex case management, end of life care, advocacy, negotiation and problem solving
- Proven ability to work independently and apply advanced clinical reasoning and judgement as well as well- developed time management skills and written skills.
- Demonstrated skills in the provision of clinical supervision and social work student supervision
- Demonstrated skills in the provision of education to patients, families and other health professionals , including the ability to undertake and lead clinical planning, research, quality and education projects
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a social work and multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved patient and/or consumer care and outcomes.
- Current driver's license and ability to participate in the after hours crisis on call social work service.
