  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications as an Orthotist.

  2. Post graduate experience as an Orthotist or extensive experience, including experience in working in a hospital and acute care environment dealing with children.

  3. Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and manage a team, including advanced interpersonal skills, time management and experience with staff recruitment and performance development.

  4. Extensive experience in written and verbal communication with a wide variety of people at all levels, including experience with policy development and policy implementation.

  5. Capacity to provide clinical supervision and support to health professionals, technical and support staff, including a demonstrated ability to perform complex and novel technical tasks related to the provision of orthoses and the ability to guide clinical and technical staff in these areas.

  6. Demonstrated involvement in planning, implementing, evaluating and reporting on services including development and implementation of a strategic plan.

  7. Commitment to support the department in undertaking research & quality improvement activities, evidence-based practice, continuous quality improvement and ongoing professional development including computer literacy.

  8. An understanding of the NSW Health system and knowledge of key reforms and strategic directions in NSW health, particularly in relation to paediatrics and child health.
