Any certificate III level technical qualification and applicant must be willing to undergo further on the job training

An interest in making things along with a focus on the quality and efficiency of your work

Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team in a busy environment

Existing knowledge or experience in technical activities may be an advantage. This might include any one of the following: use of hand tools, workshop machinery, leather work, welding, plastic moulding or other technical or manufacturing skills

Prior work experience and/or training as an orthotic/prosthetic technical assistant may also be an advantage.
