- Relevant post graduate qualifications or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a complex acute facility at a senior level
- Demonstrated senior nursing and midwifery experience with experience in leading staff and managing services in a relevant setting.
- Proven ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the service/facility are managed to provide safe, compassionate, quality care that is culturally responsive
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team and to represent the nursing and midwifery service inside and outside the organisation.
- Demonstrated capacity to interact with others using CORE values to engage in a personable and professional manner; to manage conflicts and performance issues when they arise
- Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking to set goals, formulate strategic plans and policies to achieve identified outcomes for the service and organisation
- Demonstrated understanding and participation in the implementation of organisational change, risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement strategies in the workplace.
- Demonstrated understanding of contemporary issues impacting on patient flow and capacity, and demonstrated ability to engage teams in implementing demand management strategies
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex HR and industrial matters including high level communication and negotiation skills
