Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated senior nursing experience with experience in leading staff and managing services in a relevant setting.
  • Proven ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the unit are managed to provide safe, compassionate, quality care that is culturally responsive
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs
  • Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and manage conflicts and performance issues when they arise
  • Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the management of the unit and the delivery of evidenced based nursing care
  • Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in, the clinical application of the ACORN and

    ANZCA standards within Anaesthetic and Post Anaesthesia Care Units

  • Proven ability to create and maintain a positive workplace culture and articulate and

    achieve a vision for nursing services
