- Current registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse (Division 1), post-registration management and/or speciality qualification and/or relevant acute clinical management experience.
- Extensive nursing management experience and demonstrated leadership skills within mental health, with the proven ability to create and maintain a positive workplace culture and articulate and achieve a vision for nursing services.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a nursing team within a complex multidisciplinary team environment, set priorities for services and establish and achieve agreed objectives.
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to continuous quality improvement and the ability to initiate and manage change.
- Highly developed and proven communication skills that include coaching, conflict resolution, mediation, delegation and negotiation skills and the ability to write reports.
- Understanding of and commitment to the effective and meaningful engagement of clinicians in the decision making process that impacts on positive patient outcomes.
Knowledge and understanding of how to apply Trauma Informed Care and Recovery principles in the care of people with mental health issues.
Demonstrated knowledge of the NSW Mental Health Act, NSW Mental Health Competency Standards and National Practice Standards for Mental Health Workforce.
