To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.  

  2. Demonstrated understanding of effective staffing at a facility level and the impact of skill mix, like for like replacement.  Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of NHPPD and how it impacts on staffing levels at  a tertiary level hospital 

  3. Demonstrated understanding of the at risk patient and experience in managing this cohort of patients 

  4. Demonstrated senior nursing experience with experience in leading staff and managing services in a relevant setting.
  5. Proven ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the unit are managed to provide safe, compassionate, quality care that is culturally responsive
  6. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs
  7. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and manage conflicts and performance issues when they arise
  8. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the management of the unit and the delivery of evidenced based nursing care
  9. Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace
