To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
    Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
  2. Demonstrated senior nursing experience with experience in leading staff and managing services in a relevant setting.
  3. Demonstrated ability to provide leadership as a resource person and role model in the clinical setting through the development of professional relationships.
  4. Demonstrated ability to identify the need for and initiate the development of procedure and guidelines relating to the nursing and midwifery service.
  5. Demonstrated ability to utilise a broad range of communication skills in a variety of settings, ensuring that you are able to effectively represent nursing and midwifery, and collaborate with staff and other health professionals for the best outcomes of the service.
  6. Demonstrated ability to acquire and utilise sound and contemporary knowledge and apply to nursing and midwifery professional practice, service planning and management strategies.
  7. Demonstrated ability to monitor performance for both individuals and teams. This includes the ability to undertake a range of performance management activities.
  8. Demonstrated ability to develop an operational plan for the nursing and midwifery service and coordinate the process of organisational change. This incorporates consideration of staffing profiles within budgetary parameters, risk management, work health and safety and best practice/quality improvement.
  9. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a diverse and changing workforce to meet operational and award requirements
