Selection Criteria

  1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Applicants must have Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) and/or Fellowship of the Chapter of Addiction Medicine or recognition as a specialist by the medical Board of Australia.
  2. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them
  3. Appropriate experience to practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner in Psychiatry and/or Addiction Medicine, together with a demonstrated interest and experience in drug and alcohol issues.
  4. Demonstrated capacity to leading and support relevant research initiatives, including in the interpretation and implementation of research findings and involvement in education, training, supervision and liaison in Psychiatry and/or Addiction Medicine, across a variety of professional disciplines and settings
  5. Demonstrated leadership and clinican excellence in a broad range of alcohol and other drugs clinical services and programs; and provision of clinical advice and policy development at senior level and demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication skills and the ability to work within a team
  6. Demonstrated high level verbal, written, educating, problem solving, negotiating and consultative skills with the capacity to be a media spokesperson and ability to work with staff from a variety of professional disciplines
  7. Demonstrated successful experience at leading and managing change and working in collaborative peer relationships to achieve organisational objectives and demonstrated commitment to teaching and research
  8. Demonstrated capacity to develop creative and innovative solutions to sensitive and complex drug and alcohol clinical policy and service delivery challenges.Demonstrated knowledge of clinical governance processes
