About the Opportunity
As a Migration Analyst within our Single Digital Patient Record Implementation Authority (SDPRIA) team, you will help make a real difference in healthcare by ensuring relevant clinical and operational patient data is migrated from current clinical systems into the statewide SDPR solution. Your work will ensure clinicians can access critical clinical and operational patient data for the continuation of optimal clinical care without disruption.

This role offers the opportunity to interact with a range of complex clinical systems and enterprise solutions such as the NSW Health Enterprise Data Lake to support the accurate and timely extraction, analysis, translation and migration of patient data. You’ll work with large-scale health datasets and tools such as SQL, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) 

In this role, you will:

  • Extract, analyse, transform, and load data from multiple clinical source systems into a target state-wide clinical system 
  • Collaborate with business and application experts to understand and execute on ETL tasks 
  • Define data transport methods by which extracted source system data will be migrated to the target system 
  • Analyse and translate source system data into appropriate formats (E.g. HL7, XML, JSON etc.) for migration into the target system 
  • Lead validation activities and investigate and resolve ETL related issues to ensure data from source systems are successfully migrated into the target system

 

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has advanced SQL skills and experience in a large, complex service industry environment
  • Brings extensive knowledge of complex data models and demonstrated experience working with large and complex databases, preferably with health data, using IDEs such as SQL SSMS, Oracle SQL Developer and Snowflake
  • Is experienced with analytics tools, Snowflake, ETL processes, SSIS and writing custom SQL queries for migration, reporting and dashboards.
  • Holds a relevant qualification in Computer Science or a related field
  • Can work both independently and collaboratively, demonstrating resilience and problem-solving under pressure
  • Has experience with version control, change management processes, and requirement gathering for reporting solutions
