  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Demonstrated senior midwifery experience with experience in leading staff and managing services in a relevant setting.
  3. Proven ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the unit are managed to provide safe, compassionate, quality care that is culturally responsive
  4. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs
  5. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and manage conflicts and performance issues when they arise
  6. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the management of the unit and the delivery of evidenced based nursing care
  7. Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace
