Selection Criteria

  1. Tertiary qualifications in commerce, business management, economics or related discipline or other relevant experience. Membership of a relevant Professional Association is strongly desired.
  2. Prior experience working in senior finance roles in a large organisation.
  3. High level oral and written communication, negotiation, liaison, interpersonal and problem solving skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders both within the District and externally.
  4. Proven ability to help non-financial staff to understand their costs and resources to assist them in managing the resources for which they are responsible.
  5. Prior experience in developing and leading financial improvement projects, especially in the IT, procurement or asset areas.
  6. Ability to undertake challenging financial analysis across large data sets using various analytical and/or statistical techniques.
  7. Proven ability to maintain accuracy of data and reporting of financial and other business information.
