Selection Criteria

  1. Tertiary qualification as a Social Worker and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) with extensive post graduate clinical experience OR Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Psychologist. Must have completed at least 10 years full-time experience as a Psychologist to be appointed as Senior Psychologist under Health & Community Employees Psychologists (State) Award
  2. Demonstrated high level skills and experience in providing therapeutic responses to victims of sexual assault and physical abuse and neglect of children.
  3. Demonstrated capacity to understand and canvass the needs of the community and to develop community driven approaches that will enhance positive outcomes for children and young people.
  4. Understanding of the legislation, government policies, including NSW Health policies and legal issues surrounding sexual assault and the physical abuse and neglect of children.
  5. Demostrated high level interpersonal, communication verbal and written, consultation and negotiations skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and refine strategic relationships both within and external to the organisation.
  6. Demonstrated project management experience and the capacity to lead the development of therapeutic responses to meet demand and client needs.
  7. Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal communities and/or understanding of issues surrounding child sexual assault, physical abuse and neglect of children and family violence in Aboriginal communities.
  8. Evidence of a current unrestricted drivers’ licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.
