Health Education Officer - Nepean Hospital - Perm PT

Selection Criteria to be addressed:

1. Completion of TAFE certification or diploma in alcohol and other drugs. Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to the principles of harm minimisation and recovery model for drugs and alcohol.
2. Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to provide high level documentation through the use of proficient IT skills.
3. Demonstrated recent experience in the facilitation of drug and alcohol related treatment programs and/or facilitation of diversion activities within an inpatient withdrawal unit setting.
4. Demonstrated experience in building and fostering effective working relationships across a variety of treatment services within the Drug and Alcohol sector.
5. Demonstrated strong and organisational time management skills.
6. Demonstrated ability to identify and work collaboratively with key stakeholders in the development and delivery of health promotion, diversion and educational activities within a Drug and Alcohol Inpatient setting.
7. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and part of a multidisciplinary team.
8. Awareness of cultural issues and a ability to interact with people from a diverse range of backgrounds. Demonstrated experience in providing non judgemental and empathetic approach towards Drug and Alcohol patients.
