Genetic Counsellor, Level 1 / Level 2
- ‘Board Eligible’ status with the Board of Censors for Genetic Counselling (Human Genetics Society of Australasia) and a commitment to work towards full certification in Genetic Counselling.
- Demonstrated significant genetic counselling experience, preferably in Cancer Genetics.
- Proven ability to work under minimal direct supervision where appropriate with utilization of independent professional judgement for routine tasks
- Experience in workplace and/or community education
- Demonstrated computer literacy with experience with MS Office, databases, presentation and pedigree drawing software.
- Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication.
- Demonstrated advanced reasoning skills with ability to problem solve, prioritise work and meet set deadlines
- Ability to interpret cancer terminology is desirable

Applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate.
ASARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) 3 doses are required for Category A positions (refer to NSW Policy Directive PD2022_030 Occupational Assessment Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases).
ASARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) 3 doses are highly recommended for all other health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
