Selection criteria

  1. Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialists (State) Award or be eligible for this within 6 months of the closing date of this advertisement.
     
  2. Sound clinical knowledge in radiation oncology demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position.
  3. Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner including: (1.) High level interpersonal and communication skills; (2.) Demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team; (3.) Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and evidence-based best practice, and; (4.) Demonstrated commitment to teaching and supervision.

 

  1. Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied or clinical research within the Department, including a commitment to completing at least one manuscript suitable for peer reviewed publication.
  2. Have self-awareness to acknowledge where limits of competence lie and when it is appropriate to refer to other senior colleagues for advice.
  3. Be prepared to provide clinical duties at both Blacktown and Westmead Hospitals according to the needs of the Radiation Oncology service.
