Selection criteria

  1. Possess or be eligible for specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialists (State) Award.
  2. Sound clinical knowledge in haematology, blood transplant and cell therapies demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position.
  3. Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner including:
    a. High level interpersonal and communication skills
    b. Demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team
    c. Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and evidence-based best practice
    d. Demonstrated commitment to teaching and supervision.
  4. Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied or clinical research within the Department.
  5. Have self-awareness to acknowledge where limits of competence lie and when it is appropriate to refer to other senior colleagues for advice.
  6. Up to date knowledge of cellular therapies including blood transplantation and CAR T cell administration for haematological malignancy.
    Up to date knowledge of stem cell transplantation as a cellular therapy with some clinical experience in the care of patients undergoing autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplant.
  7. Awareness and understanding of complications of blood transplant and CAR T cell therapies and their treatments.
  8. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team spanning clinical, diagnostic and cell therapy laboratory.
    Willingness to participate in clinical and laboratory quality systems relevant to blood transplant, CAR T cells and other cellular therapies.
