Selection Criteria

  • Possesses the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) or expecting to be awarded their Fellowship within 6 months may also be considered. If successful, the applicant may not be subsequently eligible to commence their appointment until after the relevant qualifications and requirements are completed. Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency.
  • Sound clinical knowledge in nephrology and renal transplantation and kidney pancreas transplantation demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position.
  • Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner including: High level interpersonal and communication skills; Demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team; Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and evidence-based best practice, and; Demonstrated commitment to teaching and supervision.
  • Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied or clinical research within the Department.
  • Experience in caring for renal transplant patients in the acute setting.
  • Experience in managing renal transplant immunosuppression in both the acute and chronic setting.
  • Familiarity with the diagnosis and treatment of complications following kidney transplantation.
  • Experience in performing renal transplant biopsies would be an advantage.
