  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or Network Engineering and/or extensive related experience in designing implementing, supporting and maintaining data network infrastructure
  2. Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of LAN/WAN support and engineering design for converged voice, data and video networks covering wide geographical areas and a sound knowledge of PABX and VOIP telephony and network design
  3. Thorough understanding of modern data network standards and technologies
  4. Demonstrated extensive knowledge, skills and experience with Cisco routing hardware, software, protocols etc. as well as strong working knowledge of structured cabling systems, network facilities, electrical, UPS, Router, Switch and IP configuration
  5. Demonstrated experience of implementing enterprise networks into business environments, specifically managing network related organisational change and the realisation of business benefits
  6. Excellent strategic planning and policy development skills, including the ability to make complex judgements and take initiative within the delegated area
  7. Excellent negotiation, decision making and influencing skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels
