- Grade 1 - Dental Assistants Certificate of Proficiency up to Certificate III or equivalent, or if unqualified a minimum 2 years’ recent dental assisting experience; OR Grade 2 - Nationally recognised Dental Assisting qualification and Certificate IV in Dental Assisting (Oral Health Education or Radiography) or equivalent.
- Demonstrated high level skills, knowledge and ability to provide competent dental assisting, to patients of all ages and medical complexities, ensuring excellence in patient care.
- Knowledge and thorough understanding of current Dental Infection Control procedures.
- An awareness of population and public oral health issues, Grade 2 will in addition have a demonstrated advanced level of understanding in Oral Health Promotion or Radiography.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the challenges involved with delivery of dental care in remove circumstances and ability to problem solve and risk manage unexpected or complex situations.
- Demonstrated good organisational, time management problem solving skills in a workplace environment.
- Demonstrated administration skills with high level computer literacy skills.
- Current valid and unrestricted Australian State or Territory drivers licence, and willingness to travel and work in various locations within the district.
