- Relevant tertiary qualifications, and/or proven equivalent experience in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement and mapping and government and media relations.
- Significant experience in the management, coordination and preparation of briefings, submissions, reports, speeches, correspondence and other information requests dealing with complex and sensitive matters.
- Exceptional writing, editing, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Sound knowledge of the workings of government policy, political sensitivities, public sector accountabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within extremely short timeframes while also producing quality work with strong attention to detail.
- High-level analytical, research, critical thinking and problem solving skills and the ability to interpret and translate complex information rapidly and accurately across a range of different communication formats and channels.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with and build the confidence and trust of senior managers and external stakeholders to achieve organisational goals.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office is essential as well as a current unencumbered driver's licence.
