How to Apply

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.

  1. Relevant qualifications as either:  Occupational Therapist currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), or;  Qualified Social Worker which provides eligibility for registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), or; Full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia or eligible for same and completion of a four-year sequence of accredited undergraduate study in the discipline of psychology (or equivalent completed overseas) and has been employed on year 9 on the psychology scale for at least 1 year, or equivalent, or;  Registered Nurse, currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). At least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time experience in the specialty field. Approved post graduate nursing qualifications in a field relevant to the specialty field or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the organisation.

  2. Demonstrated understanding of issues that affect mental health consumers in hospital and community
  3. Demonstrated extensive experience in comprehensive assessment and management of mental health consumers, including assessment, counselling and referral skills
  4. Demonstrated evidence of implementing strategies to maintain current knowledge of clinical practice advances and research in the relevant specialty
  5. Demonstrated experience applying expert knowledge to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive
  6. Demonstrated high-level communication and engagement with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs
  7. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise
  8. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of evidence based practice
  9. Demonstrated leadership in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace
