About the Role

The Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 (CNS2) Respiratory Disease Management coordinates and delivers high quality nursing care to patients/clients in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia's National Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses, criteria for CNS2 as outlined in the Public Hospital Nurses and Midwives (State) Award and the Policies and Procedures of the Ministry of Health (MoH) and Sydney Local Health District (SLHD).

  

You will be providing an advanced level of care coordination, case management and expert advice following the principles of evidence based clinical practice to support people with chronic respiratory disease, their carers, General Practitioners, practice staff and other staff involved in the provision of care. You will be working with relevant stake holders providing nursing care advice for the management of complex respiratory conditions and will exhibit an advanced level of professional leadership and autonomous clinical practice.

  

This role requires providing care in both a clinic setting and in a home care environment at times.

Ideal Candidate

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
  • Ability to apply advanced clinical expertise in relation to clinical nursing practice and independently make decisions that support good patient care outcomes.
  • A current NSW Driver's Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
