Selection Criteria

  • Degree in Social Work/Psychology or a Bachelor Degree in a Health related field with an emphasis on human behaviour, psychosocial development and counselling. Full registration with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or eligibility for membership with the AASW if required.
  • Being female is a genuine requirement of this position and is authorized under Section 31.2H of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1997.
  • Availability for participation in the Sexual Assault Counselling Service After Hours on-call roster and capacity to be at the RPA Hospital within 1 hour of being called in.
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge, skill and significant clinical experience in the provision of counselling to adults and young people affected by sexual assault and other forms of violence, abuse and neglect.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to identify opportunities and innovatively lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of service delivery incorporating continuous improvement, evidence based practice and research.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in the provision of clinical supervision, mentoring, and training and development of junior staff and students.
  • Demonstrated high level organisational, prioritisation, and time management skills in an environment of competing clinical/administrative demands.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply and share expert knowledge with colleagues and other health professionals to enhance service delivery.
