How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.
  1. Completion of a recognised ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS coding course or relevant tertiary qualifications in Health Information Management/Medical Records Management with experience in clinical coding.
  2. Demonstrated high level current clinical coding knowledge and experience with current industry experience for a minimum of 3 years full time employment in a hospital environment using ICD-10-AM/ACHI, the Australian Coding Standards and the 3M Encoder.
  3. Demonstrated high level knowledge and experience in casemix, DRGs and ABF with a demonstrated ability to produce accurate coded clinical data whilst meeting throughput targets.
  4. Demonstrated experience in the development of data/information reports and the development/implementation of coding quality improvement activities.
  5. Demonstrated high level computer skills and experience in using MS Office, a Patient Administration System, electronic medical record, 3M CodeFinder and other electronic coding resource materials.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  7. Proven ability to organise and prioritise a high volume workload and meet deadlines. Proven ability to determine integrity of data and problem solve.
  8. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in complying with the NSW Health Privacy Manual, with a thorough understanding of confidentiality.
