Selection criteria to be addressed:
- Tertiary qualification in Health Information Management (or equivalent qualification), or completion of a recognised clinical coding course (HIMAA,OTEN) and/or demonstrated extensive coding experience, with a commitment to ongoing skills and competence
- Sound knowledge of Australian Clinical Coding Standards with broad and up to date clinical coding experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and proven ability to develop and present clinical coding education sessions to relevant stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to organise tasks, assign priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated understanding of the relationship between Clinical Coding, Casemix, DRG classification systems and Activity Based Funding/Management Models
- Proven effective leadership, management, and ability to lead team members in achieving a common goal
- Demonstrated clinical coding expertise and analysis skills
- Demonstrated experience in clinical coding quality activities and analysis
