- Current registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse (division 1), relevant recent experience in clinical leadership and management and/or post graduate management qualification
- Contemporary knowledge of evidence-based Patient Flow practices and experience in designing, implementing and evaluating initiatives that support Patient Flow, inclusive of effective principals for Discharge Planning.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the challenges associated with the management of nursing/midwifery resources within a dynamic environment and the proven ability to prioritise and make sound decisions that support the delivery of effective and efficient health care.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of contemporary issues relating to nursing/ midwifery professional practice and the proven ability to effectively lead a nursing/ midwifery team within a complex multidisciplinary team environment.
- Highly developed and proven communication skills that include coaching, conflict resolution, mediation, delegation and negotiation skills and the ability to write reports of a high standard.
- Demonstrated computer literacy and ability to use a variety of computer applications (e.g. word processing, excel, databases and Intranet)
- Understanding of and commitment to the effective and meaningful engagement of clinicians in the decision making process that impacts on positive patient outcomes
