Selection Criteria
- Aboriginality - being an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person is a requirement for this position
- Demonstrated ability to work under supervision and provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team
- Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise
- Demonstrated ability to use critical thinking
- Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace
- An understanding of scope of practice and demonstrated ability to work within scope boundaries
- Willingness and capacity to complete a Certificate III in Health Services Assistance qualification throughout the traineeship program
