To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.
 
  1. This is an Identified Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Position. Applicants for this position must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent through parentage, identify as an Aboriginal person and/or Torres Strait Islander and be accepted in the community as such. Exemption is claimed under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
  2. Applicants must have successfully completed a recognised undergraduate degree and be able to meet the admission requirements for the postgraduate degree of Master of Public Health (MPH) at a university in Australia. Confirmation of university acceptance into an MPH is required for appointment
  3. Sound knowledge of social, cultural, political and health issues affecting Aboriginal people, families and communities, including demonstrated understanding of the social determinants of Aboriginal Health.
  4. Experience working in the health sector (including demonstrated skills in planning, implementing and evaluating health initiatives).
  5. Experience working in a multidisciplinary team and in partnership with community organisations, non-government and government agencies.
  6. Effective written and verbal communication skills, word processing and email skills.
  7. Demonstrated ability to self-direct and manage competing priorities, and a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines within work and between work and study.
  8. Current unrestricted Australian drivers licence (P2 Licence Acceptable) subject to obtaining NSW drivers licence within 3 months of appointment.
