  1. Must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent. An applicant's race is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised by Section 14 (d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW.
  2. Successful completion of a recognised undergraduate degree and/or ability to meet the admission requirements for the post graduate degree of Master of Public Health (such as substantial work experience and/or relatable qualifications) at a university in NSW (note confirmation is required at the time of the interview).
  3. Sound knowledge of social, cultural, political and health issues affecting Aboriginal people, families and communities and demonstrated understanding of the social determinants of Aboriginal Health.
  4. Minimum of three years’ experience in health related full- time equivalent employment.
  5. Demonstrated high level oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Demonstrated self-direction and ability to set priorities and manage competing deadlines.
  7. Demonstrated experience in the use of Microsoft office applications, including MS Word and Excel.
  8. Valid unrestricted drivers licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment.
