Staff Specialist - Cognitive Impairment Diversion Program - TPT (20hpw) up to 30 Jun 2019

1. Eligible for or current Registration as a medical practitioner with the Australian Health Regulation Agency and Fellow of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or other specialist recognition as provided for in the Staff Specialist (State) Award.
2. Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in forensic psychiatry and general adult psychiatry, and where relevant, subspecialty experience in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (or willingness to work towards).
3. Demonstrated thorough working knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2007, the Mental Health (Forensic Provisions) Act 1990 and the Crimes Act 1900, particularly in relation to forensic and correctional patients.
4. Demonstrated knowledge of the New South Wales public mental health system and experience in and understanding of partnerships with consumers, carers and health related organisations in the non-government sector.
5. Demonstrated liaison and interpersonal and communication skills that facilitate transfers, admissions and follow-up of JH&FMHN patients to community services.
6. Ability to carry out assessment and diagnostic interviews for the purpose of providing lucid and comprehensive psychiatric reports for JH&FMHN, Courts, Solicitors, Probation and Parole and various authorities and agencies.
7. Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to use standard computer applications such as Intranet, MS Work and Outlook.
