- Relevant tertiary qualification in finance/ accounting/ commerce or related discipline. Professional accounting qualification CPA/ CA/ CIMA or study towards the qualifications.
- An excellent understanding of general accounting practices; ability to interpret and apply general Government and specific Ministry of Health Accounting Policies and Australian Accounting Standards.
- Demonstrated proficient and accurate computer and data entry skills with accounting systems, MS Excel & Words.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate, analyse and implement legislation, instructions, procedural guidelines relevant to the tasks and responsibilities of this position.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing a high quality, professional and customer focused service.
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and also independently with various customer groups, employees and other stakeholders, with a can-do attitude.
- Experience in the use of finance systems: e.g. Enterprise Reporting Tool such as Hyperion or similar, Oracle/SAP/MYOB; and advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
