Justice Health & Forensic Mental Health Network is a state-wide Specialty Health Network delivering health care to adults and young people in contact with the forensic mental health and criminal justice systems across community, inpatient and custodial settings.

To provide for the coordination, delivery and evaluation of clinical nurse education (including programs) at the Health Centre/Ward/Unit level. Such education may include local/site orientation and/or transitioning for new nursing staff, undergraduate and casual nurses as well as meeting the ongoing educational needs of existing nursing staff. The focus of the role will be the improvement and development of the clinical skills and competencies of the staff working in the areas of responsibility.

  • Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Holds a relevant clinical or education post registration qualification and/or substantial clinical and educational experience.
  • Clinical experience across a range of health specialties within a hospital/community health/ambulatory setting.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Understanding of teaching and adult learning principles in the health care environment.
  • Demonstrated clinical teaching & facilitation skills and demonstrated knowledge of competency attainment and assessment.
  • Computer literacy and demonstrated understanding of health services information systems
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the values of the Justice Health & Forensic Mental Health Network.
