The Role

We’re currently looking for a qualified Clinical Nurse Educator currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA). The CNE must hold a relevant clinical or education post registration qualification and/or substantial clinical and educational experience.

The focus of the role is to provide local support and mentorship to the Justice Health and Forensic Mental Health Network (Justice Health NSW) Graduate Nurse Program participants’ as they transition to the custodial health setting. This includes ensuring the program participants complete all elements of their local orientation and provide assistance should any skill development be required. The role will also assist with the local/site orientation of new nursing staff and undergraduate nursing students.

Further focus for the role is to develop, deliver and evaluate local education to the nursing team at the Health Centre /Ward/Unit level to meet the ongoing educational needs of existing nursing staff. This includes supporting mandatory training assessments along with improvement and development of clinical skills and competencies of all nurses working in their areas of responsibility.
