The Role

 

This position is an integral part of the Justice Health &Forensic Mental Health Network (Justice Health NSW) Adolescent Court Liaison Service (ACLS). The main focus of this position will be to provide a specialised mental health court diversion and consultation liaison service to targeted Children's Courts and CAMHS in NSW. The position will work collaboratively with the broader Adolescent Forensic Mental Health Team and external stakeholders such as Youth Justice (YJ), Court users, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and community Drug and Alcohol Services.

 

Essential Requirements

·         

    • Clinical Nurse Consultant: Current unrestricted Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. Possesses the attributes to undertake and meet the Domains and Functions of Clinical Nurse Consultant - Grade 2 as per IB2017_002.The Clinical Nurse Consultant practices in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Professional Standards, including Nurses Standards for Practice, Code of ethics for Nurses and Code of Professional Conduct for Nurses to deliver professional, competent care in line with public expectations.
    • Social Worker: Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in social work and hold professional membership or be eligible for full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
    • Occupational Therapist: Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in occupational therapy and hold general registration with Occupational Therapy Board of Australia under Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra). 
    • Psychologist: Minimum of a four-year sequence of accredited undergraduate study in the discipline of psychology and hold general registration with Psychology Board of Australia under Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra). Highly desirable is approval or eligible for approval as a Psychology Board of Australia Supervisor. 
    • Clinical Psychologist: Six-year accredited master's degree or higher in clinical or forensic psychology (or another area of practice endorsement) and hold general registration and area of practice endorsement in clinical or forensic psychology (or another area of practice endorsement) with Psychology Board of Australia under Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra).  Approved or eligible for approval as a Psychology Board of Australia Supervisor.
    • At least 5 years' experience working in Mental Health, including relevant clinical experience in Child and Adolescent and/or Early Psychosis in Mental Health
