This position is an integral part of the Justice Health &Forensic Mental Health Network (JH&FMHN) Adolescent Court and Community Team (ACCT). The main focus of this position will be to provide a specialised mental health court diversion and consultation liaison service to targeted Children’s Courts and CAMHS in NSW. The position will work collaboratively with Juvenile Justice (JJ), Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and community Drug and Alcohol Services. It will also assist when required to provide a clinical consultation service to the Juvenile Justice Metropolitan Custodial Centres.

  1. Currently accredited with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse or Equivalent Allied Health Professional (Including Social Worker, Psychologist, and Occupational Therapist) with current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency Registration or relevant body.
  2. At least 5 years’ experience working in Mental Health, including relevant clinical experience in Child and Adolescent and/or Early Psychosis Mental Health.
  3. Demonstrated advanced skills in conducting comprehensive mental health, drug & alcohol risk assessments.
  4. Proven ability to develop, facilitate, implement and evaluate health plans for clients with complex health needs.
  5. Proven ability to develop, facilitate, implement and evaluate health plans for clients with complex health needs.
  6. Proven experience in ability to deliver high quality education sessions and demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
  7. Proven high level communication skills including verbal, written and computer applications such as email, Intranet, MS Word, databases.
  8. Current NSW Driver’s License valid Working with Children Clearance Certificate.
