Selection Criteria:
- Specialist registration or eligible for specialist registration as a Cardiologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) with accredited training in Cardiology and/or equivalent specialist recognition
- Possession of specific training and skills/experience in electrophysiology, including a minimum of two years' full time training in a dedicated electrophysiology programme (with exposure, participation and performance of atrial fibrillation ablation and atypical atrial flutter or ventricular tachycardia ablation). We will also consider applications from candidates with specific training in heart failure and devices.
- Demonstrated clinical experience in pacing.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching with experience in teaching both undergraduate and post graduate students and other staff of the hospital.
- Ideally, an appointment at a Sydney hospital as a cardiologist with clinical privileges in electrophysiology and the capacity to transfer patients requiring higher level electrophysiology care to Sydney as required.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health services colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and staff and to work as an effective member of the clinical team across multiple sites.
- Demonstrated experience in and commitment to research relevant to the role and needs of the Department.
