Patient Safety Manager

Selection Criteria

1. Recognised qualification in a health field with relevant registration or equivalent experience.
2. Extensive senior and broad range experience in a health care environment including acute care hospital experience.
3. Excellent leadership, written and oral communication, presentation and interpersonal skills demonstrated by: a. The ability to relate to health professionals at all levels and across all disciplines; b. The ability to relate to patients and their carers; c. The ability to manage conflict and contentious situations; and d. The ability to provide compassionate leadership.
4. A sound understanding of, and demonstrated ability to, implement patient safety and clinical quality principles throughout a health organisation combined with a working knowledge of quality management systems used to review and monitor an organisation’s performance.
5. Experience, knowledge, and understanding of the Serious Adverse Event Review (SAER) process related to adverse events.
6. Working knowledge and understanding of integrated clinical risk and quality management processes used to review and monitor the LHD's patient safety performance program.
7. High level of computer literacy with a working knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office and electronic clinical and administrative applications used by health services.
8. Demonstrated ability to operate without supervision and manage multiple projects concurrently.
