Selection Criteria 

  1. Registered Nurse with AHPRA who is endorsed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia OR Registered Nurse with AHPRA working towards Nurse Practitioner endorsement with 5 years post graduate experience and at least 3 years in the relevant field; a valid and unrestricted drivers’ licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment.
  2. Demonstrated ability to work independently and in the absence of a Medical Practitioner to provide quality care together with the capacity to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  3. Demonstrated understanding of integrated care and proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework and mixed clinical environment and evidence of the ability to influence organisational and cultural change.
  4. Demonstrated advanced clinical skills, competence and leadership in the assessment, treatment, and management of patients with Palliative Care and End of Life care needs.
  5. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current issues impacting on the provision of Palliative Care services in regional and rural areas and incorporation of same in the development of strategic and clinical service plans.
  6. Demonstrated high level advanced communication and interpersonal skills (including the use of coaching) across a variety of mediums and proven ability to write for a variety of documents, including Executive reports.
  7. Proven information technology skills with specific experience in the use of word processing, database, and spreadsheet software.
  8. Evidence of participation in own professional development, a commitment to maintaining competence and enhancement of skills, willingness to apply and share professional expertise as a resource person and mentor others within the field of practice.
