The Nurse Educator role will provide for the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of education programs at the facility level to support development of evidence-based, person-centred care within the Drug and Alcohol Service. Such education may include orientation and/or transitioning for new nursing staff and casual nurses as well as meeting the ongoing educational needs of existing nursing staff and supporting the clinical placement of students.

The Nurse Educator will work in collaboration with the D&A Service Nurse Unit Manager/ Nurse Manager and the wider hospital teams to develop, implement and evaluate clinical education programs relevant to the D&A specialty, provide clinical supervision at point of care and an ongoing focus on quality and safety.
