- Hold a recognised clinical coding qualification, e.g. from OTEN or HIMAA and/or relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience and competence in clinical coding using 3M Codefinder and a recent edition of ICD-10-AM and ACHI.
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills.
- Demonstrated thorough understanding of the Australian Coding Standards, DRG assignment and the relationship between clinical coding and Activity Based Funding.
- Demonstrated computer literacy particularly in the use of Patient Administration Systems.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills including spelling accuracy, good comprehension of the written word and confidence in the spoken word.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team situation.
- Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise workload, including ability to meet deadlines.
