Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital is seeking an experienced Urologist to provide high quality evidence-based clinical care to its Urology patients.
Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital, is located in the heart of the beautiful New England / North West region of NSW. We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable Visiting Medical Officer Urologist to provide quality Urology services to a diverse community.  Offering a lucrative relocation package for the successful candidate.
 
Located on the land of Kamilaroi/Gomeroi/Gamillaray people Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital is the second largest hospital in HNE Health and the key referral hospital for much of the north western region of HNE Health.  The newly redeveloped hospital was opened in 2015 with state of art facilities across emergency, maternity, paediatrics, theatres, intensive care, coronary care, medical and surgical specialities, with 348 treatment spaces. The hospital has five operating theatres currently in operation and is supported by a modern Cancer Centre, sophisticated diagnostic services, along with comprehensive community and outpatient services.

Key responsibilities, activities and duties:
-    Provide direct care to adult and paediatric Urology patients requiring specialist clinical management.
-    Operating theatre availability.
-    Comply with evidence-based guidelines for the provision of high-quality clinical care.
-    Coordinate referral to other specialist and subspecialties where indicated
-    Supervise the clinical care being provided by the specialist registrars and other junior medical staff
-    Provision of oncall services.

  1. A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (Urology), and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
  2. Evidence of being a medical expert, demonstrated by recent and comprehensive experience in Urology
  3. Evidence of being a scholar, maintains medical professional development and has the ability to assist other staff, including trainees in the acquisition and development of knowledge.
  4. Evidence of being a skilled communicator, including both oral and written skills, communicating with patients, students, other health professionals and the public.
  5. Evidence of being a collaborator, including the ability to network and operate within an interdisciplinary framework and to work with other stakeholders in a variety of settings.
  6. Evidence of being a manager, including ability to be flexible and cope with a changing health system, past leadership and management experience and previous safety and quality improvement activities.
  7. Evidence of being a professional, including continued professional development, peer review and other forms of clinical governance.
  8. Evidence of being an advocate, including contributions to improving individual and societal health.
