Royal North Shore Hospital provides specialty services including major trauma, severe burns, spinal cord injuries, neonatal intensive care, bone marrow transplantation, neurosurgery and interventional neuroradiology alongside acute medical, surgical, mental health, paediatric, cancer and maternity services. What you'll be doing

Radiology Trainees provide high quality radiology services whilst learning all stages of the radiological examinations of patients including referrals, triaging, supervision, performance, reporting and communication of the procedure. They will participate in all aspects of the Department of Medical Imaging, involving Clinical Radiologists as medical experts. The position will provide clinical consultation services within NSLHD and will contribute to the teaching and training of medical students, graduates and other health care professionals and to research, evaluation and quality improvement
This position is for a 5th year Trainee seeking 6 months training in Interventional Radiology.

  1. Qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements for the role
  2. Demonstrated commitment to a career in Clinical Interventional Radiology
  3. Demonstrated ability to work independently within a complex health care setting with proven time management, analytical and reasoning skills, and good common routine procedural skills
  4. Excellent written, verbal and multimedia communication skills, in order to interact effectively with patients, referrers, colleagues and other team members.
  5. Understanding and promotion of collaborative effort and empathy within a heterogeneous team environment such as a radiology department.
  6. Excellent academic record commensurate with experience, evidence of on-going learning, teaching activities, involvement with projects and research publications.
  7. Understanding quality improvement principles, audit, implementation of practice improvement initiatives and commitment to continuing professional development.
  8. Experience in a broad spectrum of clinical disciplines prior to undertaking radiology training.



Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases

To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy PD2024_015, this includes any amendments made from time to time.
