What you'll be doing
The primary purpose of the position is to provide quality obstetric and gynaecological care to patients in a complex clinical environment. Unaccredited trainees will work under an appropriate level of supervision according to their level of competence to evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to female patients of all ages presenting in any condition or stage of pregnancy or the puerperium; and female patients presenting with illnesses, injuries and disorders of the gynaecological or genitourinary system.
Unaccredited Trainees in Obstetrics and Gynaecology will work in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings including the inpatient ward care, birthing unit, theatres and outpatient clinics as required. Support for candidates working towards an application for a RANZCOG, RACGP or ACRRM training program is available through this position and associated networked sites, and applications from candidates considering a future in rural Women’s Health are strongly encouraged.
Selection Criteria
- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
- This position is subject to an appropriate supervision level which can be supported by the site. If the applicant’s registration conditions include supervision requirements, the level of supervision must be able to be supported by the site for the applicant to be eligible.
- Valid Working with Children Check
- Cleared National Police Check
- Aged Care Check for Australian Government funded positions
- To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy and this includes any amendments made from time to time.

This is a Category ‘A’ position, please read and understand NSW Health policy directive PD2024_015. All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. OASV requirements also include proof of vaccination against influenza and is compulsory for NSW Staff that enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) or who work in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs.
