What you’ll be doing

With this Senior Resident Medical Officer position you will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in Medical Imaging specifically in the field of Nuclear Medicine.  This includes familiarisation with reporting PET/CT.

This position in the Nuclear Medicine Department at St George Hospital is an excellent opportunity for junior medical staff eager to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic setting that provides a wide range of nuclear medicine scans and therapies.

In this position you would be responsible for assessing and taking clinical histories on patients presenting for a nuclear medicine scan, assisting in the management of in and out patients in the nuclear medicine department, liaising with nuclear medicine staff regarding patient preparation and reviewing scans with the nuclear medicine specialists.

Selection Criteria

  1. MBBS or equivalent, current general registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  2. Completion of at least 3 years post graduate full time hospital experience
  3. Adept written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, family members and others members of the health care team.
  4. Adept good organisational and time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
  5. Demonstrated interest in medical imaging with experience in Medical Imaging or Nuclear Medicine preferred
  6. Demonstrated interest in research
  7. Demonstrated interest in teaching
  8. Evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to self-education.
