About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity to join an innovative specialist service for children and young people living in Out of Home Care across NSW.

The Elver Program is a joint collaboration between SWSLHD and the Department of Communities and Justice and is an innovative dynamic specialist mental health service for children and young people living in Out of Home Care statewide across NSW. The service is based in the DCJ ISS office at Parramatta.

We are looking for a passionate Clinician to join our dynamic team. The successful applicant will demonstrate capacity to work collaboratively to provide intervention and advocacy for children and young people and contribute to multidisciplinary care provision. Clinicians in the Elver program complete specialist multidisciplinary assessments, clinical formulation and deliver training to a variety of stakeholders. The Elver Program provides targeted interventions, contributing to capacity building in care systems for children with complex needs in kinship, foster and residential care settings. Children and young people serviced by Elver live with the adverse affects of trauma and abuse, including disrupted attachment, increased rates of mental illness and disability impacting their development.

The position works as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) and in partnership with DCJ. There are opportunities within the program for professional learning and development, with clinical supervision supported and offered to clinicians in the program. As a statewide program, some state wide travel will be required.

What You’ll Be Doing
The Senior Clinician will support the service delivery of the Elver OOHC model of care based in Parramatta and servicing NSW. The preferred person will demonstrate confidence with managing high risk complex presentations in young people, provide leadership, mentorship and supervision to junior clinicians and service partners where appropriate. Ensure the delivery of strengths based and recovery orientated mental health care and treatment within the ELVER multi-disciplinary outreach team. Able to work from a trauma informed culturally safe lens. Carry a clinical caseload providing intensive therapeutic interventions and care coordination, appropriate to the needs of the consumer.
