What you'll be doing
Exciting opportunity to work as a Senior Occupational Therapist within the multidisciplinary Memory and Cognition Clinic at RPA Hospital. The position works collaboratively with patients and carers to provide early intervention for people with a new diagnosis of dementia or cognitive impairment.
The position is responsible for leading, guiding and managing the delivery of occupational therapy services to the clients of the Cognitive and Memory Disorders Clinic at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. As a senior clinician the occupational therapist will be responsible for the provision of an efficient and effective occupational therapy service  through the application of high level clinical expertise and knowledge in the management of patients with cognitive and memory disorders. This will include the assessment of clients within either the clinic setting or their home and provision of therapeutic interventions which will include the education of clients and carers. The post holder may be responsible for the clinical supervision of occupational therapy staff and will receive ongoing supervision and support from the Head of Department (or delegate).

The Requirements
  • Must hold qualifications recognised for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia and experience at Level 2 or higher and a current NSW Driver’s Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
  • Demonstrated advanced high level clinical expertise and knowledge of dementia and neurological conditions which may impact cognition.
  • Demonstrated high level verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences and provide education to patients/carers.
