What you'll be doing
Provide an efficient and effective cleaning service to the Milton Ulladulla Hospital, in accordance with ISLHD policies, procedures and standards, in order to provide a clean, hygienic and safe environment for patients/clients, visitors and staff. The position predominantly involves cleaning duties in specified areas however will also provide emergency response and support to the hospital as required. The function of the Health and Security Assistant is to ensure a clean, safe environment, as well as performing patient transfers and assisting the clinical staff in patient care within the limits of skills and knowledge base.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (2 doses) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Please provide proof of vaccination if available.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Current Class 1A security industry licence, Senior First Aid Certificate and Class C drivers’ licence.
  2. Demonstrated experience in cleaning practices and systems.
  3. Demonstrated ability to read and understand essential documentation including safe work practices and infection control procedures.
  4. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with key people both within and outside your work team.
  5. Demonstrated experience in effectively and safely managing confrontation and aggression.
  6. Demonstrated experience in providing services with a strong responsive customer service focus.
  7. Demonstrated experience in communicating appropriately and effectively in a wide range of complex situations.
  8. Demonstrated basic computer skills.
