About Your Role

This role is based in with the Mental Health Inpatient Services team, who specialise in:

  • The provision of acute mental health support to adults up to 65 years of age experiencing acute symptoms of psychiatric conditions.
  • The Mental Health Recovery Unit's 8 week educational and skill building program for consumers aged over 16 with a mental illness. The unit has a structured group program, and all consumers are supported to set their own individual recovery plans.
  • Specialist Mental Health Services for Older Persons (SMHSOPs), a new unit providing acute mental health support to persons aged over 65 with psychiatric conditions.
  • The Transitional Behavioural Assessment and Intervention Service (T-BASIS) unit provides multidisciplinary assessment, care planning and intensive treatment for older people with severe behavioural disturbance associated with dementia and/or mental illness. Staff within the T-BASIS units devise, monitor and adapt bio-psychological treatment strategies and are involved in the development of detailed multidisciplinary care plans for each consumer.
